About Unstable Melts

Hi, I'm Emma and yes, the name is personal.

Unstable Melts began in 2019 in Newcastle-under-Lyme, with a starter kit and no idea what it would become. What it became was this, a small batch wax melt brand built entirely by one pair of hands, and one very honest name.

The name comes from living with borderline personality disorder. The logo carries both worlds I inhabit: the rainbows, warmth, and sunshine of the good days, and the deeper split that comes with BPD. Neither side is hidden here. Both are celebrated.

We've had rebrands and reinventions along the way because that's what living authentically looks like, but Unstable has never felt more like me than it does right now. The chaos, the good, the bad, and the ugly. All of it.

Every melt is hand poured, hand painted, bagged, labelled, and packed by me in small batches. The wax blend is my own, tested, refined, and curated until it was exactly right. The scents aren't an afterthought. They're the whole point.
